Happy Birthday To Ian Somerhalder
Posted on December 9, 2012 | No CommentsI couldn't let this day go by without posting something to honor Ian Somerhalder's birthday! Most of you know him as Damon on the Vampire Diaries, some of you know him from roles of the past, and hopefully you all know him from the amazing work he does through the IS Foundation. -
The Charitable World of Ian Somerhalder
Posted on September 14, 2012 | No CommentsThese days, asking Ian Somerhalder what he has been up to is a question that would take the guy quite some time to answer. At any one time, Mr. Somerhalder is juggling acting, events, charity, and activism. All of these are things that he does not take lightly. To say he is supportive of charities does't even begin to convey the truth. Whether he is pouring over scripts for future projects, studying his lines for his role as Damon on the Vampire Diaries, or researching environmental and animal welfare issues, you can be sure Ian is putting in 110%. -
Why The NOH8 Campaign Should Matter to You
Posted on September 11, 2012 | No CommentsThe NOH8 Campaign has a chance to share in $5 million in grants but only if they receive enough votes. You can vote here and if you are a Chase customer, you get two votes. You can also earn more votes by sharing the link on your social networks or in emails to your friends. -
Alyssa Milano is Teaching Her Son Well
Posted on August 17, 2012 | No CommentsIf you are unfamiliar with St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, let me give you a little background. The late entertainer, Danny Thomas opened the hospital in 1962 after raising the funds necessary to make it happen. The idea was, and still is, that no sick child should be turned away because their family is unable to afford proper medical care. Today, Danny's children continue to be involved in raising funds to keep the hospital going. You may have seen his daughter, Marlo Thomas, in television adds or perhaps you follow her on Twitter. -
A Weekend of NOH8
Posted on May 22, 2012 | No CommentsBy now, its no secret that I am an avid supporter of the NOH8 Campaign, a huge fan of Adam Bouska's work, and an admirer of both Adam and his partner, Jeff Parshley. This past weekend was the annual NOH8 photo shoot with part of the proceeds being used to contribute to AIDS Walk NY. It has become a tradition of mine to have my photo taken anytime they are offering them in the NYC area, which luckily for me has been about once a year. I am proud to say that this was my third time and I was just as excited as I was for my first. Wearing the NOH8 tatoo on my cheek has so many layers of meaning for me.
