Oprah’s LifeClass

I have been getting so much out of the new series Oprah has been doing on OWN, her new network.  I started watching the Oprah Winfrey Show as a kid in school, I think I watched from the very first show.  Over the years, I learned so much about myself just by watching when I could.  Of course, when the announcement was made that season 25 would be the last, I felt a little bad.  While I couldn’t watch every day, I did manage to catch it when I could and record the episodes that were particularly interesting to me.

The LifeClass series has been a culmination of so many of the things Oprah has learned by doing her show and kind of a refresher course for us all at the same time.  This show has taken the experience to the next level by incorporating my favorite thing into it, Social Media.  There are webcasts on Facebook every Friday to recap the week’s shows.  On Oprah.com there are sections with Daily Life Work, Today’s Question, and even a section for you to take notes.  It truly is a global classroom.  You can even tweet your answers to the daily question from the site.

The funny thing is, all of these lessons are things I find myself discussing at length with good friends of mine all the time.  The classes have been reaffirming things I have probably subconsciously learned from watching Oprah and from wonderful people I have known in my life.

I know we are all very busy with life, work, and other things but I do encourage you to take some time out for YOU and catch this series.  By participating in the course work and webcasts, you will get even more out of it.  One of my goals has always been to keep learning, evolving, and improving.  With the guidance of Oprah and her team, I think you all will find it easy to reap the benefits of these classes and use the lessons learned to improve certain aspects of your life.

The classes have explored topics such as: Letting Go of Anger, You Become What You Believe, The Truth Will Set You Free, Joy Rising, When You Know Better…., You’re Responsible For Your Life, Holding On To The Past, When People Show You Who They Are, Believe Them, and What Animals Can Teach Us.  All great topics, all valuable lessons.

Consider checking out the show, weeknights at 8PM on OWN and head over to Oprah.com to participate in the daily activities and to find out where you can find OWN in your area.  You can catch up on previous lessons there as well.  I think you will find that the messages are hopeful, helpful, and life changing.  For me, long before there was Mother Monster (Lady Gaga), there was Mother Oprah.
